Reshoring critical manufacturing back to the United States has become a rallying cry across the political spectrum, and for good reason. The pandemic exposed how dependent America had become on foreign, and often adversarial, supply chains for everything from pharmaceuticals to semiconductors.

What real reshoring takes

Tariffs alone are not a complete strategy. Real reshoring requires predictable policy, investment in domestic workforce training, streamlined permitting for new manufacturing facilities, and in some cases, targeted incentives for industries critical to national security.

The Coalition for American Abundance supports a comprehensive approach: cutting the red tape that slows down new factory construction, while using trade policy to make reshoring economically rational, not just patriotic.
